IN OTHER WORDS
Andy Irons is a crowd pleasing excitement machine with a hunger for victory that is unsurpassed in the pro surfing ranks. Physically and mentally he is tailor made for athletic stardom be it in surfing or tennis or whatever competitive environment he chooses to pursue. He is fast, flexible, powerful and innovative. The Kauaian finished first in the world for three suc cessive seasons (2002, 2003 and 2004)and pushed current world champion Kelly Slater to the brink in 2005 with the duel becoming folklore as being the most savage of rivalries in the history of the sport. In 2006 Irons bounced back with a consistent year performance wise with one exceptional win in Mexico where he rode in some epic barrels and landed one of the biggest airs ever seen in competition. He finished the year on a high with a WQS win at Haleiwa, a 3rd at Sunset and a win at Pipe. Expect the fire to burn within Andy in 2007 as he aims for four.
